High performance sails are exceptionally important to racers seeking an advantage over their competitors.

A high performance sail is characterized not only by a fast sail-shape, but also by the ability to hold that fast sail-shape in the target sailing condition. Beside that, a high performance sail shall be easy to trim and developed for the specific rig.

Because of those requirements, the development of a fast shape involves a variety of activities: sail design, virtual simulation using aerodynamic, structural and aero-elastic analysis tools and –if required- experimental tests on the boat.
