SA Evolution - Service

SA Evolution is used by our technical team to provide professional consultancy services which enhance the quality of fiber layout design. Our typical consultancy service includes the following phases:

Phase 1. Acquisition and Review of Project’s Inputs in order to ensure that design files (rig – sail design – sailing conditions), fibers layouts, information about fibers and matrices are properly defined and readily available. 

Phase 2. DESIGN and FIBER LAYOUTS development. Once the required inputs are available, our technical team will set out to develop/examine the client's sail design and fiber layout. If changes are necessary, the relative files are sent to the client in order to be reviewed.

Phase 3. SA-Evolution analysis. Once the design/fibre layouts have been reviewed and agreed, our technical team will run aerodynamic, structural and aeroelastic analysis on sails built with different fiber layouts and in a range of sailing conditions.

Phase 4. Review of results. A preliminary report containing qualitative and quantitative information about the results of the analysis and key findings are sent to the client for a final review and open discussion. 

Phase 5. Conclusion.  A final report will be drawn out, providing:
• An accurate calculation of the strain, stresses, and loads on the rig;
• Simulations of the flying shape;
• A sensitivity analysis to improve design in response to changes in trim, wind conditions, or design parameters.

Results are illustrated using data, graphics and comments by our technical team.
